ALTERED EARTH:
POETIC PERSPECTIVES ON PLANETARY SHIFTS
A typographic poster series advertising a fictional event. Viewers are drawn to the experimental typographic designs, celebrating the work of Heid E. Erdrich, Orchid Tierney, and Hussain Ahmed
To express the commonality of each poet's writing, "interconnectedness", experimental typography was used to convey the similar themes of each poet.
MEET THE POETS
To develop a deep understanding of the history of each poet identifying unique characteristics, unifying themes, and motives for writing poetry was essential.
A fundamental part to this poster series was developing a concept that defined all three poets and the design of their posters. Although all three poets are unique in their own regard, an underlying theme in their works is interconnectedness.
SKETCH WORK
TYPOGRAPHIC EXPLORATION
The printed type was altered using unconventional materials such as glass panes, bowls, plastic bags, and a printer's scanner. Physical experimentation guided my concept generation.
